Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been sounded out over the possibility of signing Evan Ndicka in January.
As per FR, Evan Ndicka could have a possibility to join the Premier League. His agent has offered Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur the chance to sign the French defender on a free transfer.
Arsenal are on a rollercoaster ride as the Premier League table toppers have shown to restraints so far. The Gunners have entered the new year as the most coveted side in the top flight. But Mikel Arteta feels work still needs to be done.
They left it pretty late to sign any reinforcements in the winter last season. And the result was pretty evident as they lost the top four race to their North London rival Tottenham.
Antonio Conte’s side have seen ups and downs since the start of the season. And their recent downfall helped Manchester United to leapfrog Tottenham from the fourth position. With Clement Lenglet set to return to Barcelona following the completion of his loan period, there will be room for a defender as the manager does not seem to rate Davinson Sanchez pretty highly.
Bild reporter Christian Falk has revealed Ndicka has been offered fresh terms by Frankfurt and the player might be ready to renew his stay in Germany.
“Evan Ndicka has an offer from Frankfurt – a three-year extension specifically. I think there’s a good chance that he’ll sign this contract but there are many clubs interested at the moment, one of them is Arsenal. It’s not so concrete that Frankfurt are really afraid of losing him.
“They also know what his qualities are at the moment, so perhaps it’s too much of a big step for him at this point. They hope that they will sign him up on another contract. Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan – I think they’re all talking to the agent but it’s not massively concrete at the moment as Gladbach are confident about their chances of extending his contract.”
It could be a massive blow for both Arsenal and Tottenham, as losing the 23-year-old would mean they have to start their process from the scratch once again. Meanwhile, any transfer could be complicated by the player’s agents’ financial demands. Apparently, they are seeking a €15 million sign-on fee with wages of €7 million for five years.
