Newcastle United are on the verge of agreeing to a new deal for their ace midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in the next few months.
According to Football Insider, Bruno Guimaraes is very close to putting pen to paper to a new lucrative deal which could put an end to all the speculation. The player has been linked with a lot of clubs since his shining form for the Premier League outfit.
The Magpies wouldn’t have thought the midfielder would go on to have that kind of effect in a very limited time. He cost them a whopping £40 million when he arrived at St James’ Park last January.
This could go down as one of the bargain buys in the history of the Premier League as they not only survived relegation last season and have continued their meteoric progress this campaign too with the midfielder being the nucleus of the project.
The club is aware of the demand circling around him and has been in constant touch with the player’s entourage over the possibility of a new deal. He could be handed a deal worth £60 million in total with his weekly wage could soar up to £200,000.
The player has been a one-man army and he definitely deserves all the accolades. The midfielder has been a rage and his form could be central to Newcastle’s plan this season also. The Toon are set to face Leicester City in their first Premier League fixture since the conclusion of the World Cup and a positive result could set the tone for the remainder of the season.
They are currently occupying third place in the Premier League and have emerged as a surprise title contender this season. Their new owners have certainly laid a long-term vision and Guimaraes has a pivotal role in the project.
They already had a busy summer this time and Eddie Howe will be handed a sufficient budget in the January window also. Bruno netted three goals and laid two assists but failed to make his mark for Brazil in the World Cup as Tite didn’t favour him at all with Lucas Pacqueta, Casemiro and Fred ahead of him in the pecking order.
