Barcelona are keeping tabs on Palmeiras’s 15-year-old Brazilian prodigy Estevao, and they could plot a future move for the exciting forward.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona could look at alternatives to future target Endrick, with Palmeiras’s youth player Estevao a likely target. Those at the Catalan club highly rate the 15-year-old Brazilian prodigy, but they will have to wait a few years before bringing him to Spain.
Estevao is undoubtedly a name of an unknown quantity, and barely anyone has heard of him. However, Barcelona and some other clubs are keeping close tabs on many youngsters from Brazil. The 15-year-old prodigy is reportedly rated highly by the European giants.
FIFA rules restrict players from leaving Brazil for a club in Europe until they turn 18. Estevao is 15 years old but has already displayed mature performances for Barcelona’s liking. The Catalan giants are reportedly keeping tabs on his development, and a future approach seems possible.
The sudden attention from Barcelona comes after the Blaugrana reportedly bowed out of the race for Endrick. The Palmeiras wonderkid was a prime target for the Catalan giants. But now, any move may seem impossible according to club chiefs.

Xavi Hernandez was keen to bring Endrick to Camp Nou in 2024. Barcelona even invited the youngster to check the club facilities. The 16-year-old also spoke to the manager at length to understand the overall project.
Following the Barcelona visit, the report suggests that Endrick met with Real Madrid and PSG in a similar fashion. The latter even made a compelling offer worth a reported €50 million to test Palmeiras’s resolve over the player.
With Real Madrid also interested, Barcelona believe Endrick must have already chosen his next destination and may end up snubbing them. All those clubs will have to wait for at least two more years before bringing Endrick to European shores, and Barcelona want to save time.
Hence, they want to switch attention imminently and are watching Estevao in action before launching the offensive when the opportunity arrives. The Endrick file remains open for now, but the report claims Real Madrid could be his next destination.
For now, Barcelona will hope to watch over Estevao and what he can bring in the future. They will also hope the player becomes convinced of their long-term project and joins them rather than another bigwigs.
