Ben Doak on Nottingham Forest radar

Liverpool winger Ben Doak has been linked with a a potential loan move to Premier League club Nottingham Forest.

According to a report from The Scottish Sun, newly-promoted Premier League club Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Ben Doak. And it will be interesting to see if the Tricky Trees can negotiate a transfer for the 17-year-old Liverpool prodigy in the coming months.

The talented youngster was recently handed his first-team debut against Derby County in the Carabao Cup, and he managed to catch the eye with an impressive performance. The 17-year-old was a lively presence in the final third and has the potential to develop into a top-class player for the Reds in the near future.

Ben Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic after the Reds pursued him through the year. And he was regarded as a prodigious talent at the Scottish club as well. The youngster needs regular football to continue his development, and a loan spell could be ideal for him at this stage of his career.

It will be interesting to see if Nottingham Forest are keen on signing the player on a loan deal during the second half of the campaign. A permanent move away from Liverpool can be categorically ruled out for now, and Liverpool will not want to lose a prized asset like him anytime soon.

The teenage prodigy is highly rated at Anfield and has a big future ahead of him. Jurgen Klopp has shown that he is capable of nurturing talented young players into established first-team stars throughout his managerial career. Doak will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of players like Harvey Elliott, who has now established himself as a regular starter at Anfield.

The Reds have always shown a willingness to nurture young talents, instead of investing in proven stars. Doak could be another player with massive potential who goes on to become a key first-team player for Liverpool in future.

The player is unlikely to get ample opportunities at Liverpool this season. So a loan move would be ideal for all parties. It will be interesting to see if Nottingham Forest follow up on their interest with a concrete offer in January.
