Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has dismissed rumours about his potential exit this summer, stating that he is happy at Anfield and wants to stay.
Speaking to TNT Brazil (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has put an end to the speculations surrounding his future this summer, stating that he is not leaving Anfield.
Firmino joined the Reds from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015 and has since grown into one of Liverpool’s most important players despite a slow start to life at Anfield. The 30-year-old has been critical to the success that the Reds have achieved under Jurgen Klopp, with the Brazilian adding so much more than just goals.
However, Firmino has entered the final year of his contract this summer which has given way to speculations about his future. Serie A giants Juventus have shown an interest in the Brazilian international, as they are in the market for reinforcements after losing Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala.
Reports had claimed that Juventus were already in advanced talks to sign Firmino. But Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dismissed such rumours, stating that the 30-year-old remains an essential player in his plans.

And now, Firmino, too, has come out and spoken about his future, stating that he loves Liverpool and is not looking to leave the club in the current transfer window. “I love this team, city and fans. I’m here at Liverpool and I want to stay,” the 30-year-old Brazilian forward said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist also goes on to add that there had been no talks initiated from Juventus despite rumours suggesting otherwise. So, as things stand, Firmino will not be leaving Liverpool, although the Reds will need to ramp up their efforts to extend his contract, which will expire in less than a year.
Since joining Liverpool, Firmino has made 327 appearances for the Reds, scoring 98 goals and setting up 74 more. He has won the Premier League title, the UEFA Champions League trophy, the League Cup, FA Cup and more recently, the FA Community Shield. While he will stay at Anfield this summer, the 30-year-old will need to up his game amidst increased competition from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.
