Italian giants Juventus are keen to sign a resurgent Anthony Martial on loan.

According to Calciomercato, Serie A behemoths Juventus are keeping a close watch on Manchester United star Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman was seen as a top-tier talent when he moved to Old Trafford in 2015. However, he has failed to live up to that promise and has lost his way over the last couple of seasons. He spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Sevilla but found little joy.

Martial has found a new lease of life under Erik ten Hag and has been on fire this pre-season. With Edinson Cavani gone and Cristiano Ronaldo’s future unclear, Martial might have a huge role to play at Old Trafford this season.

The Red Devils star’s resurgence in form has attracted attention from Turin, with Juventus keen on taking him on loan. The Bianconeri signed Dusan Vlahovic last January but are yet to replace Paulo Dybala, who has now joined AS Roma. Martial’s ability to play anywhere along the frontline makes him a curious addition to the Juventus roster.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side are in the midst of a rebuild after what was a disappointing 2021/22 campaign that ended trophyless. And they have already approached Manchester United about taking Martial on loan but have been knocked back in their pursuit.

Ten Hag is keen to assess the 26-year-old as the Premier League season draws near. Ronaldo has returned to training but his future remains unresolved. And losing him in the coming weeks will leave the Red Devils short of options upfront. Allowing Martial to exit at the same time will leave them with much to do as time runs out in the 2022 summer transfer window.

Martial is, on his day, a match-winner. However, he remains inconsistent despite being given numerous opportunities. He looked to be on his way out of Old Trafford but has now been handed a new lease of life. The onus to perform and stake his claim as the club’s main man is on him.

Juventus appear to be in the market for a striker and have also been linked to Liverpool star Roberto Firmino. The Merseysiders are in no mood to sell their Brazilian star, and it could appear that Manchester United too feel the same way about their resurgent Frenchman.

No loan for Juventus. If they want Martial they must buy him. We are not here to be doing favours. Juventus won’t do it for us.
