Leeds United hold talks to sign Noa Lang

Leeds United have reportedly kick-started their operation to sign Club Brugge attacker Noa Lang, who is expected to leave Belgian this summer.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United have identified Noa Lang as their top attacking target in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Premier League outfit are desperate for attacking reinforcements after a disappointing campaign that sees them involved in a tense relegation dogfight.

Leeds United are aware of Lang’s desire to leave Club Brugge at the end of the season, in favour of a new challenge elsewhere. Many expect him to make the jump to the English Premier League, as he had been linked with a move to England for a long time.

The report suggests Leeds have contacted Lang’s agents, exploring the possibility of the attacker’s potential move to Elland Road at the end of the season. The Whites consider the Dutchman as an ideal reinforcement option as coach Jesse Marsch looks to upgrade his options in the attacking ranks.

Leeds were in contention to sign the Club Brugge youngster last summer. But a move did not materialise, with the Whites ending up settling for Manchester United star Daniel James on deadline day.

Unfortunately for them, the gamble has not paid off well, with James still struggling to fulfil his potential in the Premier League. In addition to the Welshman’s flight at Elland Road, the Whites are running the risk of losing Raphinha at the end of the season.

Having been one of the most consistent performers for Leeds United over the past few years, the explosive winger has unsurprisingly attracted interest from various European giants, with the player himself reportedly prioritising a move to Barcelona in the coming summer.

Raphinha’s potential exit could cause a major void in Leeds’ attacking unit. And it appears Marsch is keen on filling that void by bringing in Noa Lang from Club Brugge this summer. A left-winger by trade, the Dutchman has shown immense potential in Belgium in the past couple of years. He has impressed the onlookers with his pace, trickery and knack for scoring goals.

However, the operation to sign the Dutchman could be tricky for Leeds United and their pursuit could hinge on the fate of the relegation battle, as the club’s relegation could effectively dismantle any hopes of signing a winger, who has his heart set on joining an “elite club” this summer.
