AC Milan battle Liverpool for Ismaila Sarr

AC Milan are reportedly ready to battle Liverpool for Ismaila Sarr, with the winger destined to leave Watford at the end of the season.

According to Rudy Galetti, Serie A giants AC Milan are vying to sign Ismaila Sarr in the summer and could head into a battle with Liverpool for the 24-year-old attacker. The Senegalese international is set to quit Watford, with the Hornets one of the favourites to get relegated from the Premier League.

Watford are steadily becoming a mainstay in the danger zone, with the Hertfordshire club now looking likely to suffer the fate of relegation from the Premier League.

Watford have been in wretched form throughout the season, with good results coming only in rare patches. If they are to be relegated, several key attacking talents in the squad may be of interest to many Premier League sides, with 24-year-old attacker Ismaila Sarr leading the way.

Since he arrived in England, Sarr has been of interest to many big clubs. During his first-ever campaign in the English top-flight, Watford got relegated, and to everyone’s surprise, the Senegalese international stayed put at the club to experience life in the Championship.

The 24-year-old attacker may not want another taste at second-tier football and remains open to offers from interested clubs. Liverpool have long been touted as a possible destination for Sarr, with Jurgen Klopp, a notable admirer of his talents. The Reds are plotting a summer move for the winger, but there could be other teams in the equation for his signature.

AC Milan have entered the chase to sign the Senegalese international, with the Serie A giants eyeing key attacking reinforcements in the summer. They require a new striker, with Divock Origi emerging as an option, while the San Siro outfit are also eyeing a wide attacker as Stefano Pioli wants to shore up his options on the wings, making Sarr an ideal target.

However, the Rossoneri face a tough battle to convince Sarr to join them instead of Liverpool, who may also be able to offer better financial terms than the Italian side. Milan could also struggle to match Watford’s asking price.

With Sarr set to quit Watford, there could be a scramble for the 24-year-old attacker’s signature when the summer window opens. It remains to be seen where the Senegalese international will be playing his football next season, with his preference likely to be staying put in the Premier League.
