According to O Jogo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Bruno Fernandes could end speculation regarding his future and sign a new deal with the club. The latest report insists a five-year contract could be proposed with a bumper pay rise, with the Portuguese international expected to soon pen a new deal.
Manchester United have endured a torrid time on the pitch in the past few years. This season’s failure to succeed in any competition means the club will now head into their sixth year without a trophy, which has become a worrying trend for their fanbase.
Despite finishing second in the Premier League last season, the Red Devils are scrambling with Arsenal and Tottenham for a top-four place this term. Moreover, many key players at the club face uncertain futures, including star attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
In reality, Manchester United are not particularly fussed about Fernandes, who has a contract until 2025, with the club holding rights over another year. However, after glances from some top clubs, who are keeping tabs on the Portuguese international, Manchester United have decided to hand a new deal to ward off any possible interest.
