Transfer News: Wolves ready to swap Adama Traore with Barcelona for Francisco Trincao

Barcelona and Wolves are already negotiating a potential direct swap deal involving wingers Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao in the summer.

According to SPORT, Barcelona and Wolves could be poised to engineer a swap deal involving Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao before the next season kicks off.

Trincao joined Barcelona from Sporting Braga FC in the summer of 2020. After enduring a difficult first season in Catalonia, the Portuguese forward was sent out on loan to Wolves last year. And he has made a solid impression despite scoring just one goal in 20 games across all competitions.

And Wolves are now open to signing the 22-year-old permanently. The Midlands club have the option of making the transfer permanent by paying a sum of €30 million. But, instead, they are now working over a direct exchange that would see Adama Traore make his switch to Barcelona permanent as well.

Traore returned to his boyhood club Barcelona this past January, signing on loan for the rest of the campaign. Back at Camp Nou, the 26-year-old enjoyed a stunning debut in the La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid this past weekend

Barcelona are already believed to be planning for the next season with Traore as a big part of the schemes. Like Wolves, the Catalan giants also can sign the Spanish international permanently for a fixed sum.

However, it seems like Wolves and Barcelona will instead take the route of a direct swap deal between the two forwards in order to avoid paying any transfer fee to one another. As per the report, an agreement is being close to being agreed, with super-agent Jorge Mendes helping broker the deal.

It is further claimed that Trincao is also happy to continue at Wolves, where he has become a regular member of the starting XI under manager Bruno Lage. Even though he has been goal-shy, the 22-year-old has managed to make a solid impression on the team with his all-round gameplay.

As for Traore, the report states that he, too, would be eager to continue at Barcelona and has already given a green signal to the clubs to engineer the swap deal in the summer. The 26-year-old is likely to sign a four-year contract with the Blaugrana once the exchange with Wolves is finalised at the end of the season.
