Antonio Conte has lauded the presence of Harry Kane in his squad, suggesting the England captain wants to win things at Tottenham.
It’s barely been weeks since Tottenham appointed Antonio Conte, visibly revitalising the Spurs fanbase after a turbulent period under Nuno Espirito Santo. The Italian is yet to win a top-flight game with the north Londoners after only managing a draw in his first match in charge against Everton.
The Italian’s impeccable track record at previous clubs speaks volumes of his management, winning league titles at each of his previous three clubs in charge. The latest came with Inter Milan, who had been starved of the honour since Jose Mourinho last won in 2010.
Conte is also revered for bringing the best out of players, as he showed with stars at Chelsea before and then Inter Milan. Specifically, Romelu Lukaku became a world-beater under the Italian after a difficult time with Manchester United in the Premier League.
Harry Kane, still visibly reeling from a failed move to Manchester City, could be brought back to top form under the Italian, or this is what many believe. The England captain currently has just a single goal to show this season, after a terrific year last time out winning the Golden Boot.
Kane seems excited and eager to play under Conte as he looks to reverse his current form. The striker will hope to get on the scoresheet against Leeds and give Conte his first three points in the Premier League.
Now, Conte has heaped praise on his leading frontman, suggesting Kane is keen to win things with Tottenham. Sport Witness via Gazetta Dello Sport posted quotes from the Italian manager, as he looks forward to coaching Kane and bringing success at the north London side.
Conte said, “He’s a player of the highest level. I’ve only had the pleasure of coaching him for a few days, but he’s a top player who understands everything right away.
“You tell him one thing, and a minute later, he puts it into practice. He has talent, quality, physique, a sense of goal, football intelligence. I’ve seen few like him. His dream is to win with Tottenham, and I want to help him achieve it.”
