Transfer News: Real Madrid sign Manu Romero

Real Madrid continue to strengthen their youth ranks robustly this summer, with 12-year-old Manu Romero becoming the latest arrival at La Fabrica.

According to a report from Spanish publication Defensa Central, Real Madrid have added another promising young talent to their academy ranks, with Manu Romero arriving from Malaga.

Romero, the son of former Malaga and Uruguay star Marcelo ‘Gato’ Romero, born in 2009, has been with the academy of Los Boquerones and was part of the club’s Alevin A outfit in the last season. But, the promise that he showed meant that the youngster managed to break into Malaga’s Infantil B outfit in the 2020/21 term, despite being just 12 years old.

And, it seems like Romero has done enough to convince one of the world’s biggest clubs, Real Madrid, to take a punt on his potential, with Los Blancos now recruiting the 12-year-old from Malaga.

Real Madrid have been going about quite aggressively with regard to their transfer business at youth levels. Club president Florentino Perez has his heart set on building a team from within the club’s academy for the future, which has resulted in the Merengues bringing in a number of talented young individuals over the course of the summer.

Indeed, Real Madrid have already signed several prospects like Victor Munoz Villanueva, Mario Rivas, Jose Arevalo, Dani Martin, Ferran Seco and Ruben Montero, among others, across various age-group levels to bolster La Fabrica. They are also battling Barcelona for the signing of Enrique Herrero.

In addition, the Merengues are also closing in on the capture of another youth prodigy in the form of Bryan Bugarin of Celta Vigo, who was on the radars of Barcelona as well. The likes of Javier Villar and Jaume Jardi have also arrived to strengthen the Real Madrid Castilla outfit as well.

All in all, things are looking bright as far as the future of Real Madrid with regard to the future, with Manu Romero being the latest addition to the academy. As for the first-team, the Spanish capital club have signed David Alaba on a free transfer so far, but more arrivals are expected as Carlo Ancelotti plans a revival after the trophyless 2020/21 campaign.
