Manchester United could turn their attention to Keylor Navas as PSG move closer to signing Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer from AC Milan.
According to Marca, Manchester United could be interested in PSG goalkeeper Keylor Navas, with the Parisian club closing in on a free transfer of Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Red Devils are interested in bringing a new keeper, and the experience of the Costa Rican could be considered valuable.
As soon as the news of Donnarumma’s impending transfer to PSG came out, Navas has been heavily linked to several clubs across Europe. And, now Manchester United are thought to be interested in the former Real Madrid custodian.
Manchester United faced an uncertain season with regard to their goalkeepers. Although Dean Henderson did not look entirely convincing, David de Gea has had a few inconsistent seasons. And, the club are looking to sell at least one of their two keepers in the window if suitable offers arrive.

The Mancunian outfit has shown interest in some shot-stoppers this summer. Although the list is unclear yet, reports of a swap deal with Atletico Madrid for Jan Oblak had been doing the rounds not so long ago. However, with Oblak unlikely to move from Madrid, Manchester United are exploring other viable options.
Navas is one of the most experienced goalkeepers around Europe, with three Champions League crowns and some domestic titles with Real Madrid and more recently with PSG. However, considering the age profile of Donnarumma and his superior physicality means the Italian will be an automatic first choice for PSG once the transfer is complete.
That leaves Navas high-and-dry, much similar to when Real Madrid signed Thibaut Courtois. Navas then joined PSG and now could be looking at a move again, despite his solid performances in goal for the French side. Manchester United’s interest isn’t substantial yet, but that situation could change.
There could be interest in De Gea from abroad, although his hefty contract might make things tricky at best. On the other hand, Henderson could secure a swift transfer away amid interest from AC Milan, considering his profile and talent. Only after Manchester United shift one of their keepers can they think of further recruits in the position.
Does Navas represent a better option than United’s current goalkeepers? Based on his form, he certainly does and could be a shrewd signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer & co.
