Liverpool are reportedly interested in Ismaila Sarr but are yet undecided over the prospect of launching a move in the summer to land the Watford winger.
The Mirror have reported that Liverpool are taking a keen interest in Ismaila Sarr. The Watford winger is on the radar of the newly crowned Premier League champions. But, Jurgen Klopp & co. are reluctant to launch a move for the winger, with there being a bit of bad blood between the two clubs over previous transfer dealings.
Ismaila Sarr was recently suggested as a cheaper and viable alternative option to Jadon Sancho for Manchester United by club legend Gary Neville, who described the former Rennes star as ‘a big talent’. While Liverpool will not be perturbed by the aforementioned, their bad dealings with Watford might come in the way.
In recent years, Liverpool and Watford have directly and indirectly done dealings involving the likes of Piotr Zielinski and Jerome Sinclair. Zielinksi was courted by Liverpool from Udinese, who share the same ownership as Watford – the Pozzo family, who did not take the poaching attempt too kindly and ensured Zielinski ended up elsewhere, Napoli to be precise.
Jerome Sinclair was a young talent at Liverpool who joined Watford on a free transfer. Liverpool were infuriated at having lost Sinclair for a meagre compensation package worth £4 million.
22-year-old Sarr, though, might be worth the hassle for Liverpool. A right sided winger by trade; Sarr has the explosiveness, big game mentality and directness of a certain Wilfried Zaha, despite still having room for improvement in his passing and tracking ability.
His involvement in Watford’s 3-0 win over Liverpool – 2 goals and an assist – the first defeat the Reds received this season in the Premier League and one that derailed their mission to match the Invincibles, might be one of the causes that piqued their interest in the 22-year-old.
Liverpool and Manchester United are both being linked with Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

Watford are in peril, having sacked their yet another manager this season while being close to relegation with just two games left in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign. While Sarr might not come cheap if Watford do stay up, he would certainly be cheaper than the other options touted so far.
To add to it, Sarr has acquired enough experience in the Premier League to allow him to settle into things at Anfield without much of a hassle. This rumour seems like something that will likely remain so until Liverpool run out of options and become desperate to add to their squad, something they should do considering their recent run of results.
