Former Arsenal star Marcus McGuane, who is currently contracted to Barcelona and on loan at Telstar, is looking to return to the Premier League in January.
According to The Sun, Marcus McGuane is looking to return to England and is already in talks with English clubs over a potential January move. The former Arsenal star has been sent out on a season-long loan at Dutch outfit Telstar by Barcelona. But, the youngster seems to be keen on returning to home soil.
The report states that although the loan is supposed to be for the entire season, Telstar have allowed McGuane to explore his options and attempt to seal a transfer. In case he fails or does not find a suitable new home, he will return to Telstar for the rest of the campaign.
Marcus McGuane joined Barcelona from Arsenal on a free transfer after running his contract down at the North London club. At Barcelona, McGuane became the first English player to play for the club since English legend Gary Lineker. But, the 20-year-old has found first-team opportunities hard to come by, which is why he was sent on loan to Telstar in the Dutch second division.

At Telstar, McGuane has featured 14 times in the league, with a goal and 3 assists. His performances have impressed Andries Jonker.
Jonker said as per the report, “Marcus has developed extremely well with us in recent weeks, and that has earned him the interest of a number of major English clubs. We have therefore given Marcus the opportunity to talk to these clubs until Monday. If this does not work, Marcus will simply report to the White Lions again.”
No names have been mentioned as far as the interested English clubs are concerned. But, the report does point to the fact that McGuane is keen on a return to England and is in talks to achieve the same in January.
The 20-year-old had run his contract down at Arsenal in search of first-team opportunities. While his move to Barcelona caught a lot of eyeballs, it did not aid his mission to get regular first-team minutes. Wherever McGuane ends up, he would be hoping to kickstart his career, which has sort of stagnated for the last couple of years.
