Five Differential Fantasy Premier League Free Transfer Options for Matchday 4

Our picks for Gameweek 3 did not bang as much as they should have. While Jamie Vardy finally came good and Ashley Barnes continued his momentous form, the likes of Bernard and Erik Lamela disappointed, as did all of the other players from Everton and Tottenham respectively, with neither side able to score in Matchday 3.

Pedro, meanwhile, did not even feature, which means we were 2/5 for our picks. Let us now move on to Matchday 4, which will be the last one before the international break. Also, the trend of two ‘Big Six’ sides facing each other in each of the gameweeks so far continues, with Arsenal hosting Tottenham on Sunday.

As far as the individual stars of Matchday 3 is concerned, the forwards were in form, with the likes of Sebastien Haller, Sergio Aguero, Tammy Abraham (13 each) and Wesley (9) nabbing hefty points for their users. Mohamed Salah though, was the standout star, with his brace against Arsenal netting his users 15 points.

Without further ado, let us move onto our picks for Matchday 4.

Note: Since, we talk about Free Transfer here, we must assume that the players named are not already in majority of the squads. Hence, we have used a blanket policy in the fact that we will only be naming options that have been picked by less than 15% of the users and nearer to the 10% mark.

Daniel James (Manchester United) – Midfielder – £6.0

James is currently owned by just 4.2% of the users. But, with Anthony Martial set to miss the Southampton fixture, the Welshman will have more responsibility on his shoulders.

The former Swansea star has already proven himself as someone worthy of a starting spot at Manchester United with his performances so far and up against a Southampton side that look defensively fragile, James could wreak havoc with his pace.

Sebastien Haller (West Ham United) – Forward – £7.4

Haller may have dropped in price but his performance against Watford showed just why West Ham United had shattered their transfer record to bring the Frankfurt star in. The forward is an ideal short-term option, especially with the Hammers facing Norwich and Aston Villa in the two matchdays to come.

Owned by just 4.4% of the users, Haller also provides a bit of a differential and could be an ideal short-term replacement for Ashley Barnes, with Burnley set for a run of complicated fixtures.

Andre Gray (Watford) – Forward – £5.9

Tory Deeney is set to be out for a long long time, which means an extended run as the first-choice forward for Andre Gray. Gray has scored the only goal in Watford’s 2019-20 season so far and will have to shoulder the burden of providing the goals for the club.

With Newcastle facing a potential injury crisis, Gray would fancy his chances upfront against Steve Bruce and his men. Gray, at the moment, is in just 0.7% of the teams, thus providing an immense differential if the pick does usher the users. At the price and the differential potential, Gray is worth the gamble.

Wesley (Aston Villa) – Forward – £6.0

The summer arrival opened his account in style for Aston Villa, in the 2-0 win over Everton. But, more than that, the momentum gained from the win, going into what is a very do-able run of fixtures for the upcoming month or two, is invaluable. Aston Villa play just one ‘Big Six’ side in their next 6 fixtures, with none of the other side having finished better than 10th last season (West Ham finished 10th).

In just 1.8% of the teams, Wesley provides a fascinating opportunity for the users to take advantage of the differential to edge ahead of their competition. Wesley is one of the best picks to use the Free Transfer on for Matchday 4, considering his potential impact in the weeks to come.

Harry Wilson (Bournemouth) – Midfielder – £6.0

Bournemouth are plagued by injuries in the midfield department and at the same time, have a rather comfortable run of fixtures in the coming weeks. Wilson though, has emerged as a brilliant differential. With David Brooks out till the end of October with an ankle injury, Wilson is a guaranteed starter on the other wing, with Ryan Fraser a permanent fixture in the squad.

Wilson has produced the goods so far for Bournemouth, with two goals in 128 minutes of Premier League football this season. The Liverpool loanee is also very capable from deal ball situations, which means he is more likely to net his users extra points.

Leicester, their opponents for Matchday 4, are the toughest prospect for Bournemouth till the start of October, which means Wilson will have an opportunity to bag more goals and assists during the period.

Picked by just 2.6% of the users, Wilson could prove to be a shot in the dark that yields points and lets the users take advantage of the differentials.
