Norwich Clinch Ayala Deal
Media sources are quoting that newly promoted side Norwich City have completed the signing of Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala for a sum of 800,000 pounds.
THT Verdict: A good move for player and club. Ayala has shown talent since his move from Spain but has failed to settle into the first team on a regular basis. For a player of such a young age, it is good that he is exposed to as much first team football as possible. Rafa did a good thing in bringing him to England and with the player now standing a chance of building a career in England, it would foster his growth and turn him into a valuable asset for Norwich City.
Newcastle Join Stoke in Bendtner Chase
According to the Dailymail, the Magpies have entered the race for Arsenal striker Nikolas Bendtner alongside Stoke City.
THT Verdict: Everybody at Newcastle is desperate to see quality players arrive at the club after having seen many quality players depart the club. Bringing in Bendtner might just calm down everyone’s fears since Newcastle’s attack now looks largely injured after the departure of Carroll and Nolan.
Hargreaves offered Baggies deal
Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has been given a chance to restart his injury-plagued carrier by West Bromwich Albion as the club has made an offer for the defensive midfielder.
THT Verdict: This deal is possible. To get the best out of a smaller club really is Roy Hodgson’s forte. If he can get anything out of Hargreaves – even a quarter of a season – it will only add to the club’s success. Owen Hargreaves hasn’t lost his ability. He has lost his immune system. This is a chance for the English midfielder to give one last shot to his playing career.
Chelsea Linked To Ghanaian Right-Back
According to Sky, the Blues are chasing 22 year-old Samuel Inkoom from Ghana.
THT Verdict: Likely. The 22-year old right-back is, by no means, a finished product yet, but the potential is there. For a price of 4-6m in this market, he can turn out to be a bargain buy. Inkoom plies his trade in Ukraine, and has been subjected to a lot of racial abuse. He wants to leave, and his present club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is willing to let him go. Chelsea have Ferreira and Bosignwa, but neither inspires much confidence as a first-choice right-back. And, Villas-Boas may want to use Ivanovic in the centre of defence, hence a signing is likely.
