THT Transfer Watch: News And Verdicts – July 24th, 2011

Galatasaray have bid £4m for Arsenal’s Emmanuel Eboue

THT Verdict :  With the arrival of Carl Jenkinson, who looks quite solid and confident, it is almost the end of the road for ‘cult hero’ Eboue in Arsenal colors. The talking point, though, will be the transfer money, as of now, 4 Million is too less for the Full Back. A fees in and around 8 Mil should be just fine for Arsene to sell his once-prized asset.

Sky Italia: ” Pastore will be a chelsea player by Tuesday #CFC report is around 30million.”

THT Verdict : Likely. Javier Pastore for 30m would be a perfect signing for Chelsea. Chelsea would have a kind of player that they don’t have presently, and the Argentine playmaker would give the West London club a lot of tactical flexibility. Soon Chelsea will have to replace Lampard with a goal-scoring midfielder, and Pastore can be that player. Chelsea CEO Ron Gourlay had stated that the club will sign two players in the next 10 days, and the Palermo midfielder could be one of them. At 22, he is at a perfect age to serve the club for a long time and will even have a good resale value if Chelsea wants to sell him in future.

Chelsea to offer £27m and Daniel Sturridge for Luka Modric

THT Verdict : Impossible. Considering the prices being paid for English players, Sturridge is at least valued at 15m by Chelsea. Moreover, 35m is expected to be the West London club’s last offer for Modric. Tottenham can either cash in on their Croatian midfielder or risk having an unhappy player within their ranks. Chelsea are not just restricted to Modric, with the management looking at other midfielders such as Pastore.
