Marcelo Brozovic is reportedly back on Arsenal’s radar, as Inter Milan are interested in a deal to procure some extra funds before the transfer window closes
According to a report by Football Italia, Arsenal could receive a boost in their pursuit of Marcelo Brozovic since Inter Milan are understood to be keen to cash in on the player before the summer window ends. Arsenal have been searching for a midfield addition to their squad, and have been linked with Brozovic for quite some time.
Inter have managed to sign the likes of Borja Valero, Matias Vecino and Joao Cancelo so far, thus making Brozovic surplus to requirements. The same report also goes to state that the Croatian has a reputation for indiscipline, and was frozen out of the squad twice.
The disciplinary issue can be sorted out under the watchful eye of Arsene Wenger. Brozovic does not lack talent and that is what will matter. The midfielder arrived in Italy in 2015 on a loan deal, which was made permanent the following summer.
The 24-year-old cemented a position for himself at the Italian club in his debut season. Since then, Brozovic went on to appear 79 times for Inter across competitions. To show for his efforts, the player notched up 14 goals and ten assists – which is quite a good return.
His performances have also managed to attract the attention of clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea, but no reports have emerged further, thus making it an ideal opportunity for Arsenal to land Brozovic. In fact, the talented Croatian could prove to be the one missing part from the Gunners squad.
The player’s skillful displays with the ball, coupled with his inane ability to contribute in the attack, makes him one of the most dangerous midfielders – and that is something Wenger will welcome. As was evident in their performances so far, Arsenal need a stronger presence in the midfield, and Brozovic could be that presence.
In fact, he could come a lot cheaper when compared to Arsenal’s other transfer targets. Inter Milan are reportedly open to offers north of €20 million for Brozovic – an amount that is unlikely to be a problem for Arsenal.
