Arsenal are reportedly aiming to bring Shanghai SIPG’s Brazilian superstar Hulk back to Europe in a shock summer move as Wenger eyes summer shake-up
Spanish publication Don Balon are claiming that Arsenal are lining up a sensational move for Shanghai SIPG superstar Hulk. The Brazilian has a stark reputation of being a powerhouse and could be set for a shock return to European football, with Arsene Wenger eyeing a summer shake-up at Emirates.
A summer rebuild is on the cards at Emirates, especially with the Gunners failing to get into the top four of the Premier League this season – a result that sees Arsenal condemned to Europa League football while missing out on Champions League football next campaign.
Alexis Sanchez has been tipped to leave the club in the summer, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City among several other clubs in the running to land the player. And with the Chilean set to leave the club, Wenger will be looking to fill the void with an equally explosive player.
Arsenal have been lacking a dominating striker for long now. Despite the overtures of Olivier Giroud, the striker is not seen as Arsenal quality by several fans, with Arsene Wenger linked with moves for strikers every window.

Hulk has previous experience of European football during his time at FC Porto and Zenit St. Petersburg and was largely dominant in the continent. The player has continued to excel in China after earning a big-money move to the country.
However, the 30-year-old will surely be missing the level of competition of Europe – something the Chinese Super League cannot compete with at the moment. Arsenal need to take some dire steps to improve their squad quality if they are to challenge for the title and regain their top spot next campaign.
As per the report, Hulk is desperate to compete in Europe again and Arsenal are ready to churn out a package similar to what the Brazilian is currently earning in China, something that no other European team is willing or expected to be willing to offer.
The aforementioned makes Arsenal the favourites to land Hulk and perhaps the coming summer will see some similarly shocking transfer moves by Arsenal – something for the Gooners to get excited about.
