Manchester United have reportedly handed promising Livingston teenager Matthew Knox, who is also a Rangers target, a third trial at the club.
Daily Record have claimed that Manchester United have handed highly-rated teenager Matthew Knox a third trial at the club. The 17-year-old Livingston product, who has previously had trials at Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool, would be looking to impress the coaching staff enough for the Red Devils to move in for the talented Scot.
Matthew Knox can play both as an attacking midfielder as well as an out-and-out striker, with the latter being his predominant position. The Livingston academy graduate is the youngest player to feature for the Lions, having made his senior debut last December, 4 days after his 16th birthday.
Besides United, the player has been long on the radar of Rangers, whose manager Mark Warburton has been impressed with the 17-year-old’s talent. The Scottish giants have already had a £75,000 bid rejected for Knox with Livingston speculated to be holding out for double of what Rangers offered.

Matthew Knox has undergone trials at Manchester United on two previous occasions and is now reportedly set for a third spell with the Red Devils. The Scottish Under-17 international would be hoping to convince Manchester United enough to match Livingston’s asking price of £150,000 and land the player.
Livingston, however, are unlikely to budge. The Lions, who currently ply their trade in League One (Scottish third division), have recently tied Knox down to a new contract a few days ago. His new deal runs till 2019, which gives Livingston the room to ask a decent price for the 17-year-old.
The player is set to train with icons of the footballing world in Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney and others next week in what is set to be a make-or-break spell for Knox, with this being the third iteration of the trials being handed out to the striker.
While the youth team has an abundance of talented forwards available, Manchester United may decide to take the player in anyway, though, with the Reserves (the Under-23s) lacking an out-and-out striker in their ranks.
