Liverpool under-23s hosted Arsenal under-23s in the English Premier League 2, also known as the Under-23 Premier League.
Club captain Harry Wilson opened the scoring for the hosts, but the scores were soon leveled as Stephen Mavididi latched on to an error from Kevin Stewart.
Harry Wilson scored another to send Liverpool ahead again and Sheyi Ojo, who is returning from an injury, added another to provide cushion. Mavididi scored another for Arsenal which set the match up for an exciting finish. But, Liverpool held on to secure a narrow 3-2 win.
