Zlatan Ibrahimovic has apologised to Manchester United fans, after a 5th booking means he will miss the Arsenal game
The Swedish striker was booked in the second half after an incident with Swansea midfielder Leroy Fer.
The striker picked up his fifth booking of the season, which means he will be suspended for one game – and that game happens to be against Arsenal on November 19th.
Ibrahimovic broke his worst run of form after scoring a brace against Swansea, with United winning the game 3-1
As reported by The Mirror, Ibhrahimovic apologised to United fans, saying :
“In England, the football is hard, it’s physical. I just have to accept it. I’ve got to be professional,” he told MUTV .
“I’m sorry I am suspended for the next game.
“I wish I wasn’t as it’s a game I really wanted to play in.
“But I have trust in my team-mates and the team and I know they can do fine also without me.”
The Swede, who joined Manchester United in the summer on a free transfer, has come under fire in recent weeks for his poor form. Mourinho’s men have been criticised heavily for failing to meet expectations, especially after a 2-1 loss to Fenerbahce.
However, Ibrahimovic was back to his best against Swansea, netting twice in a game in which Paul Pogba scored an absolute belter of a goal.
Mourinho’s men host the Gunners at Old Trafford following the international break, and will be hoping for a repeat of last night’s performance from the Swede.
Manchester United are currently 6th in the table, trailing their North London rivals by 6 points.
