Zinedine Zidane needed a win in order to allay fears of mediocrity creeping in with a string of draws under their belt. Los Blancos traveled to Real Betis, who, under new manager Gus Poyet were yet to hit their stride properly but seemed to be slowly improving.
However, any expectation of a contest were destroyed as Varane opened the scoring in the 4th minute. Zidane’s side looked to be back to their ruthless best as they pumped in 4 past Poyet’s side in the first half itself.
Real Betis got one back but Real Madrid piled further agony on the hosts as the game ended 6-1.
Real Madrid fans were relieved at the result after a string of draws and hailed the squad of the night for such a dominant display.

The definition of Real Madrid, the ONLY club that can counter attack like this. The best club in world football. pic.twitter.com/1RwbXFU79L

Good Win last night. But Real Madrid should have been clear by at least 3 pts from the top. Barca and Atletico have already faced each other

Fans also hailed Isco’s performance, which should silence his doubters.
Now whoever said that Real Madrid destroyed Isco can finally shut up, though he will no longer stay in the starting XI.

The aggressiveness Madrid showed last night is what they have lacked in the last few matches, also Isco and Kovacic deserve more minutes

Isco had an amazing performance too. Great work rate (as usual), combined well with Ronaldo and Marcelo. 2 great goals too.
