Theo Walcott continued his rich vein of form this season with a brace against Swansea who ran the Gunners close before eventually losing 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal were afforded the privilege of welcoming new Swansea boss Bob Bradley to the Premier League and Arsene Wenger’s side were keen to provide the American a taste of what he could expect in the months (and probably years) to come. Things went to plan as Theo Walcott continued his terrific run of form scoring a double to send the Gunners 2-0 up at the half-hour mark. However, Swansea pulled one back through Gylfi Sigurdsson as the two sides headed into the break with the score-line reading 2-1.
A goal from Ozil looked to have sealed the deal for Arsenal before a Borja Baston goal paved way for a nervy final minutes for the North Londoners who tried to keep a determined Swansea side at bay. The Gunners succeeded at keeping Bradley’s team at bay and with the victory joined Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
