English Premier League giants Arsenal are interested in OGC Nice midfielder Vincent Koziello.
Arsenal have been rumoured to be interested in the young midfielder for a while now and reports of the Gunner’s interest in the Frenchman seem to have re-surfaced. According to Calciomercato, Arsenal have been closely monitoring the progress of the attacking midfielder.
The 20-year-old is a product of OGC Nice youth system, where he rose through the ranks to break into the first team. Despite his young age, he is a starting member in the Nice midfield and has made nearly 50 appearances for his club in all competitions, since making his debut in the 2014/15 season.
Last season was when he cemented his starting spot in the Les Aiglons midfield. He would go on to make 37 appearances for them, and score 3 goals and register 6 assists in all competitions. His performances at such an early age saw him getting linked with AC Milan as well as the Gunners, according to the METRO.
Arsenal are no strangers to scouting youth and the Gunners have a great track record amongst Europe’s other top clubs in promoting and nurturing young talent into top quality players. Robin Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott, to name a few, had all joined Arsenal at a very young age and under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger, they have all gone on to establish themselves in the first team and become top class players in the process.
The 20-year-old is currently rated at €7.5 million by transfermarkt, but it is unlikely that Nice would be willing to let one of their brightest talents leave for so little. His fast paced and direct style of attacking, combined with his great vision and passing range make him a perfect fit for Arsenal’s style of play.
Despite Arsenal packed to the brim with quality in midfield, there aren’t many top clubs in Europe that can offer player development better than the Gunners and Arsene Wenger, and that’s something the youngster will certainly be willing to consider.
