FOOT-BLOG 2011

This is your chance to become a columnist for India’s fastest growing football website.

On March 1st 2010, a group of passionate football fans decided to get together and start a website which would aim at revolutionizing the image of the game in India through quality insight, informative articles and special analysis on various football teams all over the world, including India. A year later, TheHardTackle has put itself on the global football road map with its comprehensive coverage of the World Cup, the major football leagues and Indian football, which has earned the site a sizable fan base that is growing by the day. The USP of the site has been its sincere efforts in keeping football lovers up to date on Indian football and the consistent quality of original articles on world football doled out by its resident authors, while providing guest authors a chance to show their writing talent to the football world. As we complete one year of football experience, we commemorate the occasion with a blogging contest, which aims at attracting genuine football fans who have a flair for writing articles and are well conversed in the nuances of the game. The winners get a chance to become a part of the TheHardTackle team, in addition to winning some epic stuff.

Rule 1:
The contest is open from 1st March to 30th April midnight.

Rule 2:
Each participant is required to send upto 3 original articles, with a word limit of 1000- 1500 words. A two-month frame has been provided to enable the authors to finish their work and send to us. We invite contributions from people who are passionate about football and have good knowledge of not only the teams they support, but the different aspects of the game.

Rule 3:
Special emphasis
is placed on the diversity of topics written by the same author, in addition to football knowledge, command over English language and the style of writing, be it sarcastic or humorous or any other kind. For example, three separate articles on Indian football, the Super-Clasico between Riverplate and Boca Juniors and Arsenal would be given greater precedence over three articles written on the same club or topic.

Rule 4:
There will be a strict plagiarism check. Each article will be scanned for matching references on the internet, and even if one article exceeds a 3% match, the blogger will be rejected. We place utmost importance on the originality of the content, and there would be no compromise on this.

Rule 5:
The entries will be judged by our esteemed panel of editors, and the winner(s) will be announced before 30th May, 2011. The decision of our panel of editors will be the final decision. However, it can be overturned on a later date if the participant is found to be in violation of any of the rules.

Rule 6:
The top 10 entries will be displayed on the site’s home page. Once an article is selected, it will become a property of TheHardTackle and should not be published elsewhere on the internet. All our authors, residents and guests, have supported us by abiding by this rule.

Rule 7:
The winners will receive a custom-made THT shirt, amongst other football stuff, which can be anything from an authentic jersey of the club you support to a copy of Jonathan Wilson’s “Inverting The Pyramid”, and most importantly, you will also be directly drafted into the team of resident authors.

Rule 8:
All entries should be collated and mailed to [email protected].
