Liverpool managed a comfortable victory against Derby County at the Pride Park Stadium.
Jurgen Klopp’s men made easy work of Derby County in their EFL Cup third round tie, with goals from Coutinho, Klavan and Origi helping them to a comfortable 3-0 victory. The Reds dominated from start to finish and Nigel Pearson’s men just couldn’t handle the quality of this Reds side, which was without the likes of Wijnaldum and Sturridge.
Ragnar Klavan opened the scoring for Liverpool with a shot to the bottom right corner from close range. Left unmarked in the middle of the box, he made easy work of a Coutinho cross from a corner kick.
Klavan and Lovren have scored more than Pogba this season.

Boy, do I love Klopp, Karius and Klavan. I should make them a common acronym using first letters of their last nam- oookay let’s not do that
— Paul ? (@Kolology) September 20, 2016
Klavan is a hero and he’s been here 3 months.

GOOAALLL!!! Woeful defending from Derby allows seldom seen Klavan to put @LFC in front. #beINEFLCup https://t.co/OKor9jAsO3

Ragnar Klavan, the man who though Klopp was taking the piss when asking him to sign, scores a goal. Solid, hard working CB. Love him!

Ragnar Klavan with the typical “I do not know what i’m doing” air-punch in his goal celebration

Liverpool doubled their lead 5 minutes into the start of the second half, Coutinho scoring after being put through by Firmino with a stunning pass. It was a clam finish into the bottom corner by the Brazilian.

Lovely one-two between Firmino and Coutinho – Phil taps it in.
Made in Brazil that one!

His compatriot Firmino too was lauded by the fans for his great performance on the night.
Firmino’s feet have been utterly magic this half. He waltzes. So good to watch when on-song ❤️ ? ?? #DCFCvLFC

Firmino goal now please.
— Sam McGuire (@SamMcGuire90) September 20, 2016
I have decided. @Roberto_Firmino is the name I am getting on my new @LFC shirt.
— TheFootballAudience (@TheFootballAud) September 20, 2016
Firmino back with a boss performance.
— Kris (@JustFirmino) September 20, 2016
@LFCroundup Firmino has been fantastic. He’s really settled in his second season in English football.27 mill well spent. A joy to watch

Youngster Divock Origi has taken a special liking to the EFL, netting 5 goals in 6 appearances for Liverpool in the competition. The Belgian was put through by Coutinho, who smashed it in the top right from a difficult angle.

#LFC have switched it up, sped it up and have the hosts against the ropes here. Divock Origi makes it 3-0 after brilliant build-up play
— Melissa Reddy (@MelissaReddy_) September 20, 2016
Origi’s movement for the goal is quality
— Sam McGuire (@SamMcGuire90) September 20, 2016
Divock Origi with an unstoppable finish! https://t.co/Q7dC4knRHp
— We Adore LFC (@weadoreLFC) September 20, 2016
Origi’s finishing is improving all the time, I reckon it’s only a matter of time before he’s Klopp’s first choice striker
— Stephen Taylor (@SteTaylor1996) September 20, 2016
Getting Origi on the back of the home kit was the right choice
— Gregoris Gkousis (@Gregoris96_YNWA) September 20, 2016
Can’t stop seeing Origi’s goal. Amazing sequence, movement and tempo… great goal

Loris Karius made his long awaited Liverpool debut and kept a clean sheet, but it was his one save against Darren Bent that led to the Liverpool faithful showering praise on him.
Great anticipation from Loris Karius, who speeds off his line to thwart Darren Bent. Stellar keeping that.#LFC
— Melissa Reddy (@MelissaReddy_) September 20, 2016
Karius to the rescue, racing off his line to deny Bent after Henderson pass intercepted. First real scare for #LFC. That’s HT. 1-0 up
— James Pearce (@JamesPearceEcho) September 20, 2016
A gap that still hasn’t been filled since Reina left, may just have been filled. Loris Karius, welcome to Liverpool Football Club.
— Kloppholic (@Kloppholic) September 20, 2016
Comparing Karius to Neuer is a bit far fetched. One is the best goalkeeper in the world. The other is a decent keeper at Bayern
— Aaron (@ReidTheGame) September 20, 2016
Karius’s debut was a massive success imo. Would be surprised if he doesn’t overtake migs before January
— Jackson Tarricone (@JoeAllen2ft8) September 20, 2016
@Olafur_Tomasson @SamMcGuire90 ‘Karius vs Mignolet’ haha pic.twitter.com/ioQ9s2vwD5
— Nik Postinger (@nikpostinger) September 20, 2016
Comparing Karius to De Gea is too far fetched at the moment. If De Gea trains hard and puts in the work he might reach Karius’ level someday
— Kevin (@FutbolSturridge) September 20, 2016
the fact that Karius has come in and hasnt made us absolutely sure that we never want to see Mignolet again is testament to him being meh
— ○ (@COMMXNISM) September 20, 2016
None of us go 90 minutes with Loris Karius and keep a clean sheet. Impressive.
— NTX (@NTXabi) September 20, 2016
Melwood laundry staff with the day off tomorrow as #lfc‘s Loris #Karius keeps a clean sheet on debut. Well done @LorisKarius.
