Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing wantaway Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, but the player’s agent believes the deal would be impossible.
Pep Guardiola has brought about a meteoric change at the Etihad Stadium since his appointment in the off-season. The Spaniard roped in a total of six new faces and let go of a number of first-team players as they did not fit into his philosophy.
Long standing number one goalkeeper Joe Hart was questionably excluded from Pep’s starting eleven in City’s opening game against Stoke City. Willy Caballero, despite all his frailties last season, was named as the goalkeeper.
The second-choice keeper retained his spot for the other two games as well, with Hart only starting in City’s Champions League qualifier against Steaua Bucharest. The Englishman was eventually shown the door, as he completed a move to Italian side Torino.
Samir Nasri, Elaquim Mangala and Martin Demichelis were the other noteworthy names who faced the similar wrath and were shown the door at the Etihad this summer.
But Ivorian Yaya Toure continued as a Manchester City player this season despite not playing a single minute of his side’s games this season. However, Toure has still been named in City’s Premier League squad this season, but the chances of him playing are virtually none.
Taking advantage of this situation, Manchester United and Arsenal have shown an interest in the Manchester City outcast, but it is highly unlikely that they will get their man. According to Sky Sports, Yaya’s agent Dimitri Seluk has insisted that a move to either of the two Premier League sides would be “impossible”.
But Seluk also stated that the Ivorian has received offers from China, Turkey, Italy and the United States, and could sign a pre-contract agreement with the clubs come January. He said:
“Yaya in January can sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs abroad. He will have many offers from clubs. China and America of course they want him but we will have a lot of offers from England and Europe.
“He is in very good shape, very good condition, I think he lost seven kilograms.
“Maybe that’s not good enough for Guardiola, but then Zlatan Ibrahimovic wasn’t good enough for him (at Barcelona).”
