Zinedine Zidane has named a relatively strong Real Madrid squad for their UEFA Super Cup tie against Sevilla.
Former Juventus striker Alvaro Morata makes his first professional start after returning to Real Madrid and will be leading the line for Zidane’s side. Youngster Sergio Asensio has impressed in pre-season and has been given a chance to prove himself for the first team. Casemiro, Matteo Kovacic and Isco will tuck into Madrid’s midfield with Luka Modric and James Rodriguez on the bench. Due to Pepe’s absence, French defender Raphael Varane will partner Sergio Ramos at the heart of defence, with Dani Carvajal and Marcelo on either side of the duo. Second-choice keeper Kiko Casilla has been given the nod to start in goal ahead of Keylor Navas.

For Sevilla, new signing Luciano Vietto has been named in the starting eleven. The former Atletico Madrid attacker would be hoping to impress against their city rivals. He would be supplemented in the attack by Vitolo and Franco Vazquez. Former Premier League star Stephen N’Zonzi will be delegated to pull the strings in midfield for the Los Rojiblancos. Sergio Rico is primed to have a tough time in goal, given the firepower the Real squad possesses.
