Transfer Rumour : Arsenal set sights on AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca

In an attempt to boost their attacking arsenal, the Gunners have set their sights on AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca.

The Colombian was heavily linked with a move to West Ham United and the Hammers were reportedly going to offer the 29-year old a 4-year contract worth €4.3 million a season. Bacca has enjoyed a successful first season at AC Milan after joining from Sevilla in the summer of 2015 for a reported fee of €30 million, but is considering a move away, after AC Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League.

West Ham, after missing out on Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi, had turned their attention to the former Sevilla man as they look to add big names to their ranks in a bid to establish themselves in European competition. But according to GazettaWorld, Arsenal are interested in bringing the Colombian maverick to the Emirates in the summer.

The fact that the Gunners will be competing in the Champions League next season should surely force Bacca to consider a move to Arsenal and his €30 million price tag is one that is well within Arsenal’s budget. Bacca is one of the world’s topmost strikers and has scored goals aplenty wherever he has played. The Colombian international scored 20 goals in 42 appearances for the Rossoneri last term, and will surely add a significant amount of quality to Arsenal’s attack.

At the age of 29, he is in the peak years of his career and a step up to Arsenal and the glory of the Champions League would be the right choice rather than a move to West Ham, who are only in the Europa League. A prolific marksman, he would most probably start ahead of Olivier Giroud if he moves to the Emirates. Add to that his pace, skill and deadly eye for goal, he could set the Premier League alight.
