According to former Chile international Ivan Zamorano, Alexis Sanchez is happy with life at Arsenal despite the Gunners’ failure to challenge for the Premier League title.

The Chilean has been linked with a move away from Arsenal after a difficult season with the Gunners. Sanchez has been ravaged with injuries this past season which hasn’t seen him reach the heights of the previous campaign. His own poor individual season combined with Arsenal’s disappointing trophy-less campaign has fuelled rumours of the Chilean being unhappy in London.

But according to former Chile international Ivan Zamorano, Sanchez is ‘recovering his happiness’ at Arsenal. He said “I think that Alexis is recovering his happiness. He looks like a happy guy in Arsenal.” Zamorano claims that Arsene Wenger has squeezed the very best out of Sanchez and he thought that it was important that he did, because when he is motivated on the pitch, he makes the difference for Arsenal.

He went on to say: “He is the best Arsenal player and one of the best forwards of the Premier League. That means that he is working really well. He is still very young and I think that he still has to give a bonus to become the best player in the world. He is working on that daily. He is significant for Arsenal and for the national team.”

Unhappy Sanchez?

Chile vs Argentina

Alexis Sanchez arrived at Arsenal in 2014 after a mixed stint at Barcelona, where he was never able to hold down a starting spot with the likes of Pedro and Lionel Messi present. He had a stellar first season with the Gunners, winning an FA Cup and scoring 25 goals in the process. Labeling his 2015/16 individual season a failure would be taking it too far, but with the high standards the Chilean sets for himself, not being able to build on his first season would be quite disappointing for him.

Alexis has a busy summer ahead with the Copa America and he will look to lead his country to the title once again after a putting a disappointing season behind him. Arsenal have started strengthening early in this transfer window, with their signing of Xhaka all but confirmed. The Chilean will be an important part of the Gunners setup in the near future if they intend to challenge for trophies regularly. A ‘happy’Alexis Sanchez will be vital to any plans the Gunners have, and Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are sure to do all they can in their power to keep it that way.
