Transfer Roundup: Top 6 club lining up £30m bid for Morata; Manchester United, Chelsea FC must pay £65m Lukaku

Arsenal FC have been a bit light on the attacking front this season, and Arsene Wenger is eyeing Juventus forward Alvaro Morata as the summer transfer window draws near.

Morata has had a rather frustrating season at Juventus, with manager Max Allegri favouring the combination of Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala up front. In fact, Morata has mainly been a bench warmer this season, having come on as a substitute 17 times.

Real Madrid, who had sold the player to the Bianconeri back in 2014, have a buy-back clause thanks to which they can buy him for £23 million. However, Arsenal might have to pay around the region of £30 million if they hope to land the striker, according to The Telegraph.

Manchester United to bid for Mahrez only after Mourinho approval?

Leicester City vs Chelsea

According to French outlet Le 10Sport, Manchester United are preparing to bid for the Leicester City winger, but they will make a formal approach only after getting approval from Mourinho, who may replace manager Louis van Gaal at the club next season.

However, there has been no official announcement about Mourinho joining United, and the whole thing still remains just speculation.

Manchester United’s summer signing of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven has been a complete flop at the club, failing to produce a single assist in the season so far (although he has scored five goals). In comparison, Mahrez seems to be much better suited to the Premier League with his pace and trickery, as he already has 16 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League this season.

Everton set £65m price tag on Lukaku

Manchester United v Everton

With interest in their top striker growing by the day, Everton have set a massive £65 million price tag on Romelu Lukaku, according to the Daily Mirror. This would effectively make Lukaku the fifth most expensive player in the world, after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. The Belgian striker has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League in the near future, something Everton cannot offer him next season.

The main interest in Lukaku has been reportedly from Manchester United and Chelsea, but neither of the two sides currently look like they can offer him Champions League football next season. However, Lukaku has been performing better than the top strikers at both clubs (Wayne Rooney and Diego Costa), and so would be an asset both clubs would be interested in adding to their side.

Liverpool to offer Balotelli in Ilicic swap-deal

Sassuolo vs AC Milan

Mario Balotelli is set to return to Liverpool after an unsuccessful loan spell at AC Milan, but the Merseyside club do not seem to be prepared to take him back. Instead, Jurgen Klopp and his men are hoping to use the Italian to get a swap-deal for Fiorentina playmaker Josip Ilicic, according to Italian outlet Il Giornale.

Balotelli has been a huge disappointment for Milan this season, managing to find the back of the net just once in the Serie A so far. In comparison, Ilicic has had a greater influence on the Viola midfield, netting 12 times and providing five assists in the Serie A. Another positive in favour of the 28-year-old Slovenian is he can operate as a creative midfielder, a forward, and as a winger.
