Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup after suffering a humbling defeat in the quarter-final against underdogs Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Two second-half goals put the Hornets in a commanding position, and Arsenal were unable to find a way back despite Danny Welbeck’s 88th-minute strike. Watford’s star striker Odion Ighalo opened the scoring, even though his side played second fiddle to the Gunners for much of the first half.
A few minutes later, an absolute gem of a goal from Adlene Guedioura put the Hornets 2-0 up. Arsene Wenger immediately brought on his big guns, and Danny Welbeck managed to cut down the lead with two minutes of normal time to go.
However, it proved to be too little too late, as Arsenal’s 15-game unbeaten run in the FA Cup came to an end and Watford went through to the semi-finals.
