Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski scored his sixth goal against Wolfsburg this season, netting in the 74th minute on Saturday to give his side a two-goal cushion.
Poland international Robert Lewandowski is having arguably the best season of his career in 2015-2016. His strike against Wolfsburg was his 33rd goal in 34 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, and his 23rd league goal in 22 Bundesliga appearances.
After his historic five-goal haul against the same opponents earlier this season, Dieter Hecking’s men would undoubtedly have formulated a plan specifically to contain him. However, Wolfsburg were forced to chase a goal after Kingsley Coman’s opener for Pep Guardiola’s side, and as such, looked increasingly vulnerable defensively.
Fans took to social media to hail Lewandowski’s goalscoring prowess, with some jokingly suggesting that he had a poor game because he managed just the solitary goal on Saturday. Here are some of the best tweets from the game:
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI! That was a great finish. WOW! 2-0

Big performances from Coman & Ribery today. Coman stepped up when Bayern needed him. Ribery showed he still has a spark as Costa struggled

Great performance this half from Bayern, who may have just saved Pep Guardiola’s job for another week. Hate to say it, folks, but it’s true.
