Ronaldo Needs A Couple More Years At Real Madrid, Calls La Liga Best In The World

Ronaldo recently completed 6 years at Real Madrid, the same numbr of years he spent at Manchester United, but the Portugese winger thinks that his work at the Santiago Bernabeu is not done just yet.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a much sought after player in the transfer market, which is what you’d expect of a player who is considered to be one of the all time greats. With a number of rumours linking him to the likes of PSG and Manchester United, he recently said that he would prefer to see out his contract at Real Madrid.

“I have been in Spain for six years now. I was in Manchester for six years as well and that was a great experience, a great championship, but for me this is the best league in the world,” the 31-year-old said at a ceremony organised by Spanish publication Marca, where he won the top goalscorer award. “It’s a privilege to be here. I want to be here for a couple more years and then we’ll see. That’s the duration of my contract and I want to give my all in that time.”

Last dance at the Theatre of Dreams?

Ronaldo would be 33 years old when his contract at Real Madrid runs out and that wouldn’t make him a very attractive player on the transfer market, despite his stellar achievements. This means that top clubs would think twice about signing the aging footballer.

However, if there’s one big club who would likely welcome their prodigal son back with open arms, it’s Manchester United. The Portuguese burst onto the scene during his days at Old Trafford and perhaps he would like to see out the twilight of his career in the stadium where it all began and a gangly teenager from Portugal became one of the biggest superstars in the world.
