Guus Hiddink Set To Take It Easy With Ailing Chelsea FC Players Hazard, Matic

Chelsea FC might have dispatched League One side Scunthorpe 2-0 in their third round FA Cup, but there is more bad news for the beleaguered Blues than there is good news for them.

There are a few injury woes  at Stamford Bridge and manager Guus Hiddink will be a bit worried about the fact that star man Eden Hazard is still ruled out of action due to a groin injury.

Chelsea FC have a cluster of difficult fixtures coming up, with matches against West Brom in the midweek, followed by crucial matches against Everton and Arsenal FC in the following two weekends. However, in spite of these important matches coming up Hiddink says that he would be going a bit easy with star man Hazard, who is suffering from a groin injury.

“I don’t want him to fall again with muscle problems,” Hiddink was quoted saying in the Daily Star. “I want to be careful with him that he doesn’t start too early.”

Matic also an injury worry

Holding midfielder Nemanja Matic was also doubtful for the Scunthorpe match, and remains to be in the same status after he suffered an injury during training, says manager Guus Hiddink. The Serbian was apparently hit on the back of the head with a ball.

“Yesterday he was a little dizzy, and this morning he was a bit dizzy again,” said Hiddink.

Matic and Hazard have both been a mere shadow of what they were last season and this seems to have pulled Chelsea FC’s performances down quite a bit. While Chelsea FC seem to have recovered from their nighmarish start, Matic has started to play better than he did previously in the season. Hazard however, has been plagued with injuries and is yet to show the title-winning form of last season.
