Barcelona Sign 77 New Players As Transfer Ban Is Finally Lifted — Yes, Seventy Seven

La Liga giants Barcelona were banned from making any signing in the January 2015 and summer 2015 transfer windows for signing too many underage foreign players, but have more than made up for it by signing 77 players in one day.

Barcelona faced a transfer ban that didn’t allow Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal to play for the club, even though they had been signed 6 months previously. Turkish national team captain Arda Turn had been signed from Atletico Madrid and Spaniard Vidal from Espanyol, but neither of them were eligible to play for the Blaugrana, and have only now officially signed for the team.

The other 75

While Turan and Vidal are the most high profile players who have been sitting on the sidelines waiting to be eligible to play for the Catalan club, let’s not forget that the ban also applied to Barcelona’s youth academy, La Masia. So the other 75 players have been signed through the various youth levels going down from the Barcelona B team to Benjamin E, which is the team for the age group of 7 to 8.

Have a look at the informative tweet below for a list of all the players that are heading to the Camp Nou and La Masia.
