Amidst growing discontent at the way Louis van Gaal is doing things at Manchester United, veteran Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his interest in the managerial job at Old Trafford.
The UEFA Champions league and Premier league manager opened up recently about his admiration of the Premier League and his belief that Manchester United is a destination of choice for all football managers.
“Of course, for every manager, they would all think of managing Manchester United,” he told The Independent, according to ESPN FC.
“I would like to come back in a club with a good project, but, of course, one that is competitive,” Ancelotti added. “The Premier League is the best in the sense of atmosphere, ambience. It is also competitive, so I would like to come back, especially for the atmosphere.”

Ancelotti said he does not mind waiting and would preferably like to take over at a club next summer. He also mentioned that he’d indulge in a few of his favorite hobbies till then.
The Italian said: “I will continue to wait [to join a club]. If I dona t find a club with a good project, I can wait… What will I do? Watching games, fishing, all these things. But let us see next summer. I will not take a job in mid-season, but I would like to work again next summer.”
The 56-year-old manager’s last stint was at Real Madrid CF where he lead them to a 10th UEFA Champions League crown in 2014, while he also has immense experience in England, winning all the top honours during his time with Chelsea, including the Premier League, the FA Cup and Community Shield.
