Ancelotti Backs Managerial Ability Of Zidane, Tips Him To Be Future Real Madrid Coach

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane to be manager of Los Blancos’ first team in the future, insisting that the Frenchman is already ready to be a top-level manager

Rafael Ben tez has not made the best start to life at the Santiago Bernab u with his Real Madrid side now trailing rivals FC Barcelona by six points following a humiliating 4-0 defeat at home in El Clasico.

Although club president Florentino P rez called a press conference to publicly back his manager, the Spaniard’s position remains tenuous and Real Madrid Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane has been tipped to take over as manager of the first-team eventually.

.

Ancelotti believes Zidane will make a great manager

Former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has backed Zinedine Zidane’s managerial abilities, insisting that the Frenchman has all the makings of a great manager. The Italian went as far as to say that Zidane is ready to enter top-level management immediately.

Ancelotti spoke to French radio station RMC, and is quoted by ESPN FC as saying: “Zidane has a fantastic CV as a player and he’s in the process of getting good experience as a coach

“He has all the qualities to be a fantastic coach — charisma, personality, experience. In the future he will perhaps be the manager of Real and another team. But I’m sure that he’ll succeed as a manager.

“Does he have the ability to do it from today? I think so. I’m even certain of it.”

Appointing Zidane a gamble

It remains to be seen whether Ben tez can salvage Real Madrid’s season enough to be considered for a second season in charge, but if he is sacked, appointing Zinedine Zidane would be a huge gamble on the part of P rez. Although he has an excellent CV as a player, his coaching ability has as yet been untested in top-flight football.

The one obvious advantage he has is his relationship with the players and the fact that he might just be able to get the players to play as a team and for each other, something Ancelotti managed for a period with considerable success. Ben tez, for all his qualities as manager, isn’t known for his man-management abilities and that could ultimately prove to be his downfall.
