Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers is in a confident mood ahead of the Everton tie, but has urged his side to take their chances if they are to come away with all three points.

Liverpool FC have had a rather poor start to the new season, with the Reds having won just three of their 10 games. While they had won their opening two games, the overall performances left a lot to be desired.

Liverpool hardly created chances in those games and that came to haunt them back over the next six games as they failed to win any of them.

However, the last few games have seen the Reds create quite a few chances, but they have not been clinical enough.

Rodgers urges Liverpool to improve finishing

Manager Brendan Rodgers is now hoping to take the Reds to the next level by urging them to finish the chances they have been creating in order to beat Everton at the weekend.

He was quoted as saying by the official Liverpool FC website: a When we first started [the season] we had a couple of wins but we werena t creating so many chances. Now ita s starting to evolve where wea re starting to create opportunities and clear-cut chances.

a So we know whether wea re playing home or away, wea re back into the flow of creating chances. Now what we have to do is take those chances.a

Everton win could be huge– Rodgers

Rodgers is hoping to beat Everton and galvanize is troops once again, with Liverpool’s season threatening to derail before it has even taken off.

He said: a Ita s a big game because ita s a derby and of course for us as Liverpool every game is a huge game. We go there with confidence, knowing that wea re starting to create chances and score goals in our last games.

a Every win gives you confidence but of course in this type of game it can be an extra bonus, especially away from home.

a Ita s another opportunity to get a victory and we know wea ve got the game to get goals and win the game. We respect that ita ll be a tough game but ita s a game we really want to win for us as a team and obviously for our supporters.a

Pressure is mounting on Rodgers once again, with Liverpool having failed to beat FC Sion in midweek, just a week after their disappointing penalty triumph against Carlisle.

.

The manager will hope that the Aston Villa showing, which once again saw Liverpool regain some kind of flow to their game, will once again be evident when they take on Everton.
