.

Manchester United host Ipswich Town in the third round of Capital One Cup and manager Louis Van Gaal has given the team news ahead of the clash.

The Red Devils are without Luke Shaw, who is the only long-term absentee in Louis Van Gaal’s squad having suffered a broken leg in the clash against PSV. Marcos Rojo and Paddy McNair are sidelined for the clash against Ipswich, while Phil Jones, who has been struggling due to a bout of thrombosis in his leg has returned to the squad.

Manchester United narrowly won last weekend’s clash against Southampton with record teenage signing Anthony Martial scoring twice. The 19-year-old Frenchman could be rested for the game against Ipswich with striker James Wilson set to be handed his first start of the season.

The Red Devils were humiliated by League One side MK Dons last year in the second round of Capital One Cup and manager Louis Van Gaal would be looking to avoid another similar result.

Louis van Gaal tells #MUTV Rojo and McNair will miss the Ipswich game through injury but Jones is in the squad and will be on the bench.
