Dejan Lovren Vows To Improve, But Says That Mistakes Happen

Liverpool FC defender Dejan Lovren has vowed to come back stronger after his revival in the Reds’ squad took a setback due to mistakes in the 3-0 mauling by West Ham.

Liverpool FC had kept three clean sheets going into the West Ham game. However, the Reds crashed to a morale-crushing 3-0 defeat to West Ham at home. The Redsa performance was littered with defensive errors, with Dejan Lovren returning to his disastrous form once again after having put in three solid displays. All three goals conceded by Liverpool FC were down to individual errors, with the pick of the bunch coming from Dejan Lovren, who was labelled as a potential a world classa defender by Rodgers before the game.

Unsurprisingly, he was the player that bore the brunt of the Redsa fans’ frustration on social media and in the press.

Lovren held on to the ball for far too long near the touchline, and was duly dispossessed by West Ham forward Manuel Lanzini. The Hammers capitalized on the mistake and went on to score their second of the game.

Following the West Ham game, Lovren expressed his determination to bounce back from the mistakes he made.

He was quoted as saying by ESPN FC:

“The game is finished and I have forgotten about it already. What can I do?”

“The first minute after the second goal I wanted to go under the table, but in these moments you need to keep your head up. I tried everything but it was a bad decision. Mistakes happen.

“Things like that happen but I don’t think it will shake myself and the team.”

We need to forget this loss – Lovren

Urging his team mates and everyone at the club to keep their head, Lovren said:

“I am the first one disappointed with myself but now we have to go away with the national teams and in two weeks we have Manchester United.

“We need to now keep our heads up in the tough moments but you see other clubs losing at home and we wish we could have taken 10 points from the four games but we didn’t.

“We need to forget this and I know we will be better. We need to do it because of us and the fans. We didn’t deserve this.”
