Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC somehow managed a nil-nil draw at the Emirates stadium despite over 30 chances created between the two sides.
Arsenal FC’s new goalkeeper Petr Cech, who had received flak for his unconvincing performances in the Gunners’ opening two game pulled off a couple of astonishing saves in the first half to keep the home side in the game. Liverpool FC played brilliantly on the counter in the first half, with the Gunners wasteful in possession and kept losing the ball in their own half. Arsenal FC dominated the second half but were unable to break the deadlock.
There was no shortage of action in the draw and it was probably one of the most pulsating 0-0 draw of recent times. Both the sides hit the woodwork, Coutinho did it twice in the first half while Alexis Sanchez struck once in the second. Aaron Ramsey had a goal wrongfully chalked off for offside, when Martin Skrtel had played the Welsh midfielder onside. Liverpool FC got out of jail for the second time in two weeks courtesy of contentious refereeing decisions.
The makeshift Arsenal FC defence of Calum Chambers and Gabriel Paulista was picked off at will by the Reds, with Chambers particularly shaky in the first half. The former Southampton man made a series of glaring mistakes, gifting the ball to the opposition and if not for some crunching tackles by Francis Coquelin, the Gunners would have conceded in the first half.
However, the most worrying stat for Arsene Wenger would probably be that his side have failed to score at home five times out of the last six. An appalling record considering that the Gunners are seemingly challenging for the title this time around.
Fans and pundits took to twitter to praise Petr Cech’s heroics while also highlighting Arsenal FC’s need for a top top striker.

This was the kind of game where both defences say, “we’re going to be shit”, and offences say, “challenge accepted”. Goalkeepers win

Arsenal have fired in the most shots this season (61) and scored the joint-fewest goals (2), one an own goal.

My favourite Arsenal tactic is when we bring Walcott on for Giroud then start crossing the ball.

Time wasting in the 60th minute at 0-0, by Liverpool. What a shame how far this once great club have fallen since hiring Rodgers.

People saying Ozil played poorly? He controlled the match. No wonder England can’t win major tournaments when you don’t understand the game.
