Manchester United are looking to move on from the David Dea Gea saga and will sell the player to Real Madrid this week, signing a replacement, as per reports in Spanish newspaper Marca.

David de Gea was widely expected to swap Old Trafford for the Bernabeu this summer after the goalkeeper refused a reported A?200,000-per-week offer to stay at Manchester United.

It was also reported earlier by reliable dailies like the Times, that Manchester United were all but resigned to losing their goalkeeper and believed that only a u-turn equivalent to what Wayne Rooney did in 2010 will prevent the Spainish goalkeeper from joining Real Madrid.

But the Telegraph reported that Manchester United had made it clear to Real Madrid that they are prepared to run down the contract of David De Gea, which has only one year to go, rather than selling the goalkeeper should they not be allowed to sign Sergio Ramos.

The deal seems to have now hit a roadblock with the Spanish giants refusing to let their captain go who is set to sign a new deal at the club as per recent reports.

De Gea to be sold this week

However, as per reports in the Spanish newspaper Marca, the English side are looking to sell the goalkeeper and move on from the saga by signing a replacement.

Following a poor showing in the recent pre-season tie agianst PSG, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was quoted saying that De Geaa s poor showing may have been down to the goalkeeper being distracted.

Marca says that with the Tottenham Hotspur game on the horizon, the club wants to move on from the saga. Manchester United see no reason to keep the goalkeeper anymore, given that he will be out of contract next summer and that his current mental state means he will not be able to give his best at the club.

.

What does this means for Sergio Ramos?

Sergio Ramos – Manchester United deal was reportedly called off with Florentino Perez making it clear to the player that he is not for sale. However, conflicting stories have emerged that the player is yet to agree to a deal with the club and is keen on moving to Manchester United.

Perez though, has made it clear that he is not prepared to lose his Real Madrid captain, having been heavily criticized for selling Iker Casillas.

Any possible de Gea move will not have much affect on the Sergio Ramos situation, who is likely to stay at Real Madrid.
