Juventus are now keen to add a playmaker to their squad following the departure of Vidal and both Mario Gotze and Julian Draxler have drawn their interest so far. Earlier today Italian media reported that Juventus have opened negotiations with Schalke regarding the transfer of Draxler.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has confirmed that Juventus have asked their permission to open talks with Draxler and his agent, which they have granted.
“Juventus sent us a written request asking for permission to speak with Draxlera s agent. We have agreed to that request.
“However, at the moment we havena t received an actual offer from the Turin club.” a Heldt told German newspaper Bild.
Draxlera s agent Roger Wittmann then confirmed the above news and disclosed that the deal could be concluded for a 25 million as the previously mentioned release-clause (of a 45 million) is no longer active.
a Ita s true, wea re talking with Juventus.
a I think a deal could be concluded for a 25m. His release clause [a reported a 45m] is no longer applicable after June 30, and that will also apply for the next two seasons.a – Roger Wittmann said in an interview to Tuttosport.
However, Football Italia reported that Juventus are only willing to pay a 20 million, while Schalke are demanding a 30 million for the youngster. They also stated that Juventus are looking for a loan deal initially, with an option to make it permanent. This stems from concerns about fitness of Julian Draxler. Schalke however are looking for a more permanent solution.
Latest reports from Italy claim that Juventus are now delaying their move to sign Draxler as they are still waiting for answer from Mario Gotze. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been subject of Juventusa interest and they want to sign him on loan, with an option to buy at the end of next season.
The German champions are willing to entertain this offer, but it is Gotze who has stalled this move as he is unsure about moving to Italy at this point of his career. Juventus are still waiting for his answer before they make their move to sign Draxler, as Gotze remain their preferred target.
