FC Barcelona midfield maestro Andres Iniesta has expressed his sympathy for Iker Casillas for having to leave Real Madrid for FC Porto.

The FC Barcelona midfielder has admitted that he feels sorry for his Spain team-mate, who has just ended a 25-year career with boyhood club Real Madrid.

Casillas will always be remembered as one of Real Madrida s greatest. The Spain captain has been a hero for his country and won everything he could possibly have in a glittering career.

The parents of Casillas had reacted very badly to the news of their son’s exit and accused president Florentino Perez of forcing FC Porto move on the player.

Casillas’ Spain teammate Andres Iniesta has spent his entire career at Camp Nou and he admitted that he would find it tough leaving the Blaugrana for another team, sympathizing with the Real Madrid captain.

“I haven’t spoken with Iker but I guess it’s not an easy situation,” the midfielder told La Sexta.

“It’s difficult to leave the club of your life, so we’ll see what happens.”

Iniesta and Casillas have won one World Cup and two European Championships together, playing with each other since the last nine years for the Spanish National Team.

Earlier, Casillas revealed the reason why he chose to move to FC Porto, paying tribute to the Portuguese club and distancing from the extra-ordinary comments by his mother, who labelled Porto a second division side.

.

a The decision to leave for Porto is due to two fundamental reasons.”

a The first is the hunger displayed by the president (Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa), the sporting director Antero (Henrique) and the manager Julen Lopetegui, and above all the rest of the team.”

a The second is the many signs of affection Ia ve received as people have learnt that my future is in Portugal.”

a Theya ve won me over, and Ia m very happy, very content.a
