Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes’ agent has reiterated his clients desire to stay at Old Trafford, amidst speculation of interest from Turkey.

Valdes had been signed by the Red Devils in January to compete with fellow Spaniard David De Gea for the number one spot at Old Trafford, however, the future of both the Spaniards have been the center of media speculations for months now.

While, David De Gea is at the top of the wishlist for Real Madrid, the Spanish giants are said to be closing in on the 24-year-old, following the transfer of current number one Iker Casillas to FC Porto. Valdes has attracted interest from Turkish side Antalyspor, with the president of club the having declared that Valdes wanted to leave Manchester United.

These suggestions, have however been dismissed by Valdes’ agent, Gines Carvajal, who insists that the former Blaugrana number one, would like to stay at Old Trafford for the duration of his contract, while also acknowledging that he has been contacted from Turkey.

Carvajal speaking to AS said– “Ia ve been contacted by a series of individuals from Turkey to negotiate a move for Victor,a

a But I havena t spoken with the president of the Turkish club in question. I dona t know him. I have no plans to talk with them again as my player has no interest in a move to Antalyaspor.

“His only wishes are to remain at Manchester United and he has another year left on his contract. We dona t see any reason for him to leave the club.”

Valdes has spent most of his time with the English giants on the bench, while only getting to play the last two matches of the season, following an injury to David De Gea. Although, Carvajal insists that the Spanish stopper is ready to compete with his younger counterpart for the starting birth.
