Southampton have announced the capture of Juanmi from Malaga for a fee, which is reported to be in the region of A?5million in an attempt to maintain the momentum that they have gained under Ronald Koeman.

The Spaniard had only managed to find the back of the net on thirteen occasions in sixty-two games for the La Rosaleda outfit, but his fortunes, if not, an injury to Diego Costa helped him represent his nation, thereby drawing attention from top clubs such as Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Speaking to the official website of the south-coast club, he expressed his delight over becoming a part of the Saints roster. The former Malaga striker also admitted that it was his dream to play in the Premier League and added that he could be expected to put his goal-scoring boots on next season.

. “It’s a pleasure to be here and I am looking forward to being a part of this club. Ia m anxious and I want to start as soon as possible. This is a big club and it has shown a lot of trust in me. The training ground is magnificent and likewise the stadium. It really, really is a big club.

“Since I was very young, it’s always been a dream for me to play in the Premier League. The style of football played here is similar to the way I play, so it’s a dream come true. I just want to start playing and to start scoring goals.”

The 22-year-old has been deemed pacy, witty and versatile while Spanish journalist Antonio Gallardo asserted that he might find it hard to adapt to the physical nature of the Premier League, let alone the competition that Shane Long and Graziano Pelle would impose.
