Spanish giants Real Madrid are hot on pursuit of David de Gea. But Manchester United are also eager to keep hold of their keeper and they are ready to offer a new bumper deal, worth upto 2,50,000 pounds a week, to the Spaniard.

David de Gea, through his superb displays throughout this season, has proved it again that he is one of the best goal keepers of the world at the moment. Manchester United have qualified for the UEFA Champions League next year and the Spaniard is arguably their best player this season.

The former Atletico Madrid man has become an undisputed starter for Manchester United and his excellent displays have caught the attention of Real Madrid authorities, who are keen to make him a successor of club legend Iker Casillas.

The performance levels of Iker Casillas have rapidly gone down in past two years. The Real Madrid captain has made many goal keeping errors this season and both, the club fans and club management, is very dissatisfied with his mediocre displays.

Real Madrid are keeping watch on the progress of David de Gea since long and the keeper himself is interested in moving to the Spanish capital.

Manchester United authorities are very much aware that it is almost impossible to keep David de Gea away from the lure of Real Madrid, and hence, they have decided to try and pursuade him to extend his stay by offering him a new deal worth 2,50,000 pounds a week.

However, Real Madrid obviously have the financial mussle to offer him much more than that and the future of David de Gea still looks uncertain.

Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain and England have also confirmed the plans of Manchester United to offer a new deal to David de Gea.

The Sun has claimed it today that Manchester United will break the bank to try and keep hold of Real Madrid bound David de Gea.
